Shaping the future of neurosurgical care

The NMNS has four separate categories of membership

  • Active- physicians who are engaged in and whose practice is limited to neurosurgery, are American Board of Neurological Surgery certified or eligible, or who are participating in an accredited neurosurgical training program
  • Senior- Active members in good standing having reached the age of sixty-five and have ceased clinical practice or members who become permanently disabled, upon notification to the Secretary, may ipso facto become Senior members. Senior membership terminates upon the resumption of professional activity.
  • Associate- Neurological surgeons not engaged in the active practice of neurosurgery or individuals from the fields of neurosciences may be elected to Associate membership. Each Associate Member must be certified in the field of his primary activity, if such a board exists
  • Honorary- Neurological surgeons or other non-neurosurgeons, especially non-physicians who have rendered faithful service to the Society or who have attained exceptional eminence in neurosurgery or related fields upon whom the board of directors bestows this title.

Please complete the membership application and return it to the NMNS by mail, fax, or electronically.
